OSM Thome Recruitment is looking for experienced Commis for unique career opportunities in the cruise industry, on behalf of Carnival Cruise Line. Carnival's cruise ships are floating hotels and guests like to enjoy all the delicious food prepared onboard. In the job as Commis for Carnival you will be assisting cooks when preparing meals, ensuring that all food production recipes and presentation specifications are followed, as per company standard, to produce food of consistent quality and cost. As part of the hardworking Galley team – Commis are responsible for following recipes and specification to ensure quality and consistency of the meals they produce as well as ensuring the highest level of sanitation is maintained, all in keeping with company and USPH standards. Rotation: 8-9 months on / 2 months off. Responsibilities and Tasks: Maintain the quality and presentation of all food served and the expedition thereof. Follow all USPH and HACCP procedures in all food production and galley maintenance. Assist the cook in directing and leading the trainees. Serve food on the service lines and present it to company specifications. Follow all recipes to company specifications and avoid wastage. Communicate and cooperate with all other team members, to ensure a smooth food delivery system. Ensure garbage separation standards are being followed. Perform all other tasks assigned by senior management. Advise Superiors on different or inferior products being received. Maintain Hospitality standards at all times towards Crew and Guests. Qualifications and competence: At least 3+ years experience from Hotel, Resort or Cruise Ship US Visa C-1/D is preferred however not required at the time of application (the transit and crewmember VISA must be obtained before start date) Covid 19 Certificate Basic Training Certificates as per STCW standard English language proficiency Health certificate #J-18808-Ljbffr
