Lloyd Crawford – Editor-n-Chief Costa Rican born and Brooklyn raised Lloyd Crawford started i-Fashion (i-fashionmag.com) magazine with the hopes of shining a lens on the diversity in the fashion world. His love of the camera and fashion led him to create i-Fashion magazine, who will celebrate its 10th year anniversary on May 12th, 2018. The magazine’s mission is creating a platform for creative minds to build and share through colors, design and ultimately fashion; both domestically and internationally. Lloyd’s ability to straddle the worlds of business, photography and design makes him a man of diversity and inclusion. He captures the essence of emotion in his work while also using his creative mind to create resort wear, L’Antonio, which will showcase at his May 12th celebration. Lloyd’s L’Antonio line is one of a kind in that it is the complete package, including classy swimsuits coupled with jewelry, wraps and heels. As a true Taurus Lloyd’s loyalty and groundedness has kept him in high regard among his colleagues in the industry. A soft-spoken man with a radio voice and a radiant smile Lloyd’s ability to engage all audiences adds to his uniqueness. Professionally shooting since 1989, Mr. Crawford images have graced the pages of Vogue, Elle, W, Essence and countless others. It wasn’t until after these accomplishments that he realized there were so many local fashion talents that needed to be seen. Hence the birth of i-fashion magazine. People always ask what the “i” in i-fashion stands for and the reply is “independent.” The initial premise behind the magazine was a way to showcase Lloyd’s work to a greater audience. But after working with so many talented individuals and teams, he felt it was important to showcase their work as well. What makes i-fashion unique both domestically and internationally, is the hand-picked display of new artists featured side by side with established talent. Even after 10 years Lloyd is still the man behind the camera, and the computer, connecting personally with the artists. When i-Fashion Magazine started in 2010, after a two-year run, the magazine had a modest following, close to 75,000. However, at the end of 2016, the magazine’s following is well over 400 thousand readers. With a staff of 12 fashion professionals who also mentor and educate kids, i-fashion magazine also helps builds community by collaborating with various other magazines with similar missions.

i-Fashion Takes it to Martha’s Vinyard

We arrived early afternoon on April 14th. Despite the surge in temperature in NYC, the weather on Vineyard was chilly but beautiful. The goal of the event was three-fold; increase our network, build community for our July show and present L’ Antonio line as the transition wear of the Vineyard. We succeeded on all fronts. We hosted a meet and greet at the Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown and were graced with the presence of local talent; from a radio host, to an Editor-N-Chief of the local fashion magazine, to a pioneer in small business development, to renowned artists, photographers and designers. I was grateful for the warm welcome, positive response and interest in both i-Fashion Magazine and L’ Antonio. Stay tuned…

NYC Shoot-A-Thon 2018: Mr. Don Pittman

It was the last day of March and spring was in the air. Cars flooded with models and photographers trying to get their positioned shoots, welcomed me as I approached 172 Classon Ave in Clinton Hill Brooklyn, NY. From that scene alone, I was intrigued. I stayed to the side as I watched the man himself, Mr. Don Pittman, position several models in front of a red vintage Chevy. A crowd gathered outside and I made my way upstairs to find several set-ups with models and photographers shooting different scenes. Along the right wall was a slew of hair and make-up artists busy at work, preparing models for their selected shoots. The atmosphere was festive and free resembling the spring weather outside; models and photographers expressing their creativity and talent. The whole concept was truly fascinating because you had a diversity of models and photographers shooting different scenes in one location. Fortunately, I had the chance to speak with Mr. Don, thankful that he made time to chat given all that was going on, and he shared that his ultimate plan is to take the show on the road. We wish him the best.

Let There Be Light

The March equinox has long been celebrated as a time of rebirth in the Northern Hemisphere. Spring-time festivals and holidays such as Easter and Passover are the main celebrations across many cultures as the path of the Sun aligns with Earth’s equator.

It’s a time of both rebirth and renewal. i-Fashion Magazine will celebrate our 10th year anniversary this spring. As I reflect on the past 10 years I am floored by all of our accomplishments and now….I’m ready for more. My hope in the next few months as we transition into spring, is to expand our audience both domestically and internationally. Without giving too much away, I plan to build on our commitment to diversity and inclusion and grace our pages with models, designers, and photographers from Martha’s Vineyard to Ethiopia.

Yes, a broad range of talent and beauty will grace our print pages and our newly designed website. I welcome you to also reflect on this time and think about ways to bring renewal and rebirth to your worlds. Much success and happy spring.

Paris Fashion Week does Black Leather

Outerwear gained a new focus at the recently concluded Paris Fashion Week Fall Winter 18 with designers going back to the essence of the classic black leather coat. A of brands showcased head-to-toe black looks in impeccably crafted animal skin which radiated a luxurious sheen.
Givenchy, Olivier Theyskens, and Hermes sent out below-the-knee length top coats in leather. Designer Anthony Vaccarello at Saint Laurent brought back focus on the booties by teaming them with ultra-short leather shorts which were paired with a leather jacket. Valentino sent out a top coat with a hoodie and statement fringe which were paired with matching black booties.
