Fatima Smith has had a long and successful career in the fashion industry. She started modeling at the tender age of 12 in the early “80’s”. Hailing from Springfield, MA, she rose to prominence by age 28 during the “90’s “ when she moved to NC and “Internet Modeling” was introduced on the World Wide Web. Throughout Fatima’s tenure as a professional model which spans decades, she’s worked with some of the most prestigious Fashion Designers, Stylists, Mua’s, hair stylists, photographers, and of course models throughout the Southeastern region. In addition to her runway modeling career, Fatima has acted in multiple movies and stage plays. TV/ film and print have been a part of her DNA since a child. Fatima has been featured in a variety of magazines, received nominations for prestigious awards from her peers, and was the recipient of the “Fashion Icon” award in NY.
Fatima has also been involved in the fashion industry behind the scenes. In 2011, she started producing photo shoot-out events and later fashion shows. It was then that FSmith Productions was born. Fatima not only produced the events but also scouted models, conducted castings, creatively directed, provided runway training, and photography services, and grew to learn and love the various aspects of the fashion/entertainment business. Once in front of the scenes, now, behind it. Fatima brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table. She loves pouring into others, mentoring and helping those in or entering the business to find their niche and make a name for themselves in this industry. She does a lot in various communities and she produces “All Things Arts” events based on causes and awareness. Domestic violence and HIV/Aids are two.
As the Southeastern Region’s fashion editor of I-Fashion Magazine, Fatima prides herself in finding talent and being in a position to bless them with publishing credits that otherwise wouldn’t be afforded to them at this magnitude.
