Panama “Bridge of the World, Heart of the Universe” November 2018

“The diversity of the people, the richness of our culture with all the different influences from the Caribbean and Europe. That’s what makes the Panamanians one of a kind”, says designer Jean Gould who proudly remembers her childhood in Bocas del Toro, Panama.
Coming home after school and seeing her mom actively sewing and teaching her the skills that made her a designer today. “She is my true inspiration”, she adds.

Ms. Jean Gould developed a true love for making and designing Polleras, the Panama National Costume. “Designing is my passion, this is the gift God gave me”. She dedicates her time and her craft, serving the Panamanian community in the United States, from her workshop in Brooklyn, NY.

Coffee Around The World – September 2019

One of the activities a lot of people enjoy when traveling is tasting coffee worldwide. Visiting cute coffee shops, touring coffee farms or just buying it as a souvenir to take home is definitely a traveler habit. The different styles varies around the world; from delicious Italian espresso to the well known Café au laît from France.

Coffee is grown in over 50 countries around the world, including Costa Rica, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Colombia, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Vietnam through the Bean Belt.

A lot of factors affect the taste of the final product; the weather, the soil, the altitude, even the amount of sunshine and rainfall will play a role in the quality and flavor of the coffee. In the commercial coffee industry, there are two main important species- Arabica (70% of the world production) and Robusta (mainly used in blends and instant coffees).
