When I started the L’ Antonio Resort Wear line, the clothing itself, spoke for ninety-five percent of the style. The other five percent was the jewelry and accessories. Yet, it’s that five percent that completes and accentuates an outfit taking it to the next level and making the look uniquely you.
Jewelry is one of the most important pieces when putting together an outfit. It elevates the style you are trying to create and can be a symbol of identity. From wearing a ring in your nose or on your toes; to sunglasses, hair pieces and necklaces…it’s all part of a statement that speaks to your identity.
I recently visited Delhi, India. What an experience! I was most intrigued by the craftsmanship that goes into some of the everyday wear jewelry. Although you can find great and inexpensive deals at various markets, the variety of styles offered, gives you a vast selection for your particular taste. I got a memorable and first-hand lesson on the differences between wedding jewelry as opposed to everyday wear.
Our cover designer, Saima Chaudhry is a jewelry designer, event organizer and filmmaker who has been in the business for several years. Her company, Indira’s Closet, has a diverse selection of styles and one of a kind pieces ranging from $10.00 to $8,000.00. Her efforts to change the way models are treated in the industry is documented in her upcoming film “Because I Never Give Up.”
There are so many items to discuss such as scarves, watches, shoes, and glasses, but the jewelry stands out from those selections. We covered each category and tried our best to give you a variety of information so when you make that final selection for your outfit, it looks like you and all you are worth.
